The Coeur Silvertip mine located in British Columbia, just 10 miles south of the Yukon border is seeking an HR Generalist to work in a camp-based environment rotating on 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off schedule.

The HR Generalist will reside in the Human Resources department and will report to the Human Resources Manager.

Job Description/Duties

Position Requirements:

  • Providing guidance and assistance to employees and managers including employee relations, performance management, disability management, and HR policies and programs;
  • Develop workplace policies and practices that position Coeur as a workplace of choice;
  • Ensure compliance with all Provincial and Federal employment legislations;
  • Develop and recommend effective onboarding processes;
  • Ensure required communication of policies to staff, inclusive of appropriate documentation;
  • Communicate to internal stakeholders in Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations;
  • Administer and educate employees of benefits and maintain a sustainable relationship with insurance providers;
  • Ensure effective exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations;
  • Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations);
  • Act as representative for unemployment claims;
  • Oversee adequate orientation and training within the organization;
  • Perform interviews, screens, and recruit for entry level, professional and technical job openings;
  • Ensure the compatibility of applicants to job positions;
  • Manage salary structure, position documentation, and evaluation system;
  • Develop and provide recommendations for policies and processes;
  • Provide research as requested;
  • Plan, organize and attend recruitment fairs as requested;
  • Plan and organize staff events and recreational activities;
  • Keep job descriptions current;
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive Human Resources experience;
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management required;
  • Work experience or education in employment law or other area of regulations preferred;
  • Work experience in recruitment preferred;
  • Experience in the mining industry preferred;
  • Demonstrated work knowledge of multiple human resource areas preferred;
  • Demonstrated ability to provide beneficial recommendations to solve HR related issues related to regulations, laws and policies;
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies;
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization;
  • Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent typing skills, including proper spelling and grammar;
  • Presentation skills required;
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times;
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently;
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail required;
